Some of the pages on Freebuck.com look funny.

The Freebuck.com site uses advanced web programming techniques. Some older browsers do not handle the new programming very well and may display incorrectly. Freebuck.com has been programmed to work with a variety of web browsers and computers. However, we have made a design choice to offer the highest service level even if it means that some old browsers do not work properly. For example, Netscape versions 4.x and earlier have difficulty rendering some of the pages, although the site is certainly usable with that browser. Upgrading to a new browser is relatively easy and it is free. For PC and Mac users, we recommend Microsoft Internet Explorer. Linux, Unix, and Open Source software users may use Mozilla. These programs may be downloaded from the links below. Follow the installation instructions from the vendor.

Download links for internet browser software:

Microsoft Internet Explorer - use version 4.0 or higher

Mozilla - use version 1.0 or higher

Netscape - use version 6.0 or higher

Some of the images show a "click here to get plugin" message.

Certain stock ticker images on this site use "Java", which is a universal programming language for the Internet, other images use a "Flash" plugin for image animation. Java programs require a "plugin" program to execute. Most browsers come with the Java plugin pre-installed. Flash plugins are available for free from Macromedia. If your browser requires these plugins, just click on the message and follow the installation instructions from the vendor.

What is a PDF file?

PDF stands for "Portable Document Format" which was developed by a company called Adobe. PDF formatted files require the Acrobat Reader program which can be downloaded for free from the link below. Freebuck.com does not use PDF files, but many of the links to other websites do. All Internet users should have the Acrobat Reader because this is a common format used by many websites.

Is Freebuck.com a free service?

Freebuck.com is a free service devoted to investor education about alternative investment strategies. The site is currently advertiser supported. Premium subscription content may be added in the future, but all content that is currently free will remain so.

What are "Alternative Investments"?

Alternative Investments are any investment or asset that is not promoted by the Wall Street complex. This may include:

  • Precious metals

  • Commodities

  • Currencies

  • Short-selling

  • Options and futures

Freebuck.com neither endorses nor condemns traditional investment strategies but encourages investors to learn about alternatives and take control of their finances. Some alternative finance strategies may be risky, but all investments carry risk. The best way to manage risk is to be fully aware of risk and have alternative strategies to hedge those risks.

What is behind the name Freebuck.com?

Freebuck.com is a play on words to describe the inherent worthlessness of the fiat US Dollar. It is also a plea to return to a free-market currency that allows consumers and firms a choice in payment systems.
